Calisthenics is bodyweight training that uses simple, powerful movements like pushing, pulling, jumping, and swinging to build strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. No fancy equipment, just control, rhythm, and mastery of your own body.

My Calisthenics Journey
I've been practicing calisthenics for over a year now, starting with all kinds of different variations of push-ups and pull-ups. It's not just about building muscle! It's about developing discipline, balance, and mental toughness. My favorite movements include handstands, muscle-ups, and handstand pushups.
Calisthenics has improved my posture, core strength, and overall confidence. I train outdoors whenever possible, enjoying the fresh air and the challenge of mastering my own body weight. The community around it is welcoming, and there is always a new progression to chase.
Favorite Movements
- Handstand — an inverted balance on the hands. It trains shoulder strength, line awareness, and the patience to fail a hundred times before holding one for ten seconds.
- Muscle-up — a pull-up that transitions over the bar into a dip in one continuous motion. The classic "gateway" skill into bar calisthenics.
- Handstand Push-up — a vertical press done while inverted against a wall (or freestanding). All the strength of an overhead press with none of the weights.
- Front Lever — hanging from a bar with the body straight and horizontal, face up. A test of pulling strength and total-body tension.
What I'm Working On
- Holding a freestanding handstand for 30+ seconds
- A clean front lever
- Strict handstand push-ups, freestanding
- Stringing skills into a short flow on the bar
